In an online shop, it’s not uncommon to switch out several top banners almost daily. Offers, promotions, and campaigns need to be presented dynamically and visually appealing to grab customers’ attention. This visual support is essential for the daily success of the online shop and often requires creative but fast solutions. For designers, this can be quite a challenge, as they are under significant time pressure to deliver aesthetically suitable designs that are crucial for the shop’s daily performance.

During my time at electronic-star.de, I faced exactly this challenge: developing a system that would make it easier for the design department to handle the constant demand for new banners efficiently and stress-free. The goal was to implement a process that not only saves time but also ensures that the high-quality standards necessary for a successful e-commerce business are maintained.

To address this, I developed a template system that allowed designers to create a professional banner in under 10 minutes with just a few clicks, instead of spending several hours as before. This system consisted of pre-designed layouts tailored to the company’s common requirements and campaign structures. By applying these flexible templates, it became possible to respond quickly to changing promotions and offers without forcing the designers to compromise on aesthetics.

This process significantly relieved the design team, enabling them to meet their daily targets more efficiently without unnecessary stress or wasted resources. It also improved the planning process and increased consistency in the shop’s visual presentation.
