Introduction

Haven is a safety map app designed to empower individuals, especially women* and LGBTQIA+ individuals, to navigate public spaces with greater confidence. The app provides real-time safety updates, crowd-sourced incident reports, and designated safe zones, helping users make informed decisions about their routes and surroundings.

Problem Statement

Many individuals, particularly women and LGBTQIA+ people, experience heightened insecurity in public spaces. Reports from surveys and interviews indicate that harassment and attacks, particularly against trans individuals, have increased significantly. In Germany alone, public harassment cases rose by 55% in 2024 compared to 2023, with trans people being the primary targets.
